Layout Designer lets you customize labels and invoice headers. You may define sizes and margins, insert static text and images, and choose fields to print on the label / invoice header. You may preview the layout as pdf for which you'll need a pdf viewer such as Acrobat reader.
8.1 Naming a layout
| |
A layout is identified by a two-part name. The first part is the layout 'group' and the second part is the layout 'name'. The 'name' part is required to be unique in the scope of a 'group'. All the groups should have unique names. All the existing groups are listed
in the group combo box. The name combo box displays the layouts under the selected group.
|
8.2 Layout commands
| |
New: Click on 'New' to start designing a new layout. Select / Enter a group and specify a name for the layout design.
Edit: Open an existing layout by selecting relevant group / name and click on 'Edit'. You may change the name if required. You may also change the group if you want to copy the existing layout to a new group and continue editing.

8.3 Layout Design
| |
The design is displayed as a grid sized as per given dimensions. You may customize the grid by adding rows and columns and by changing row heights and column widths. In each cell, you may add a field, insert an image or static text.
|
8.4 Layout Operations
| |
Layout operations are available only in 'New' or 'Edit' modes. Right click on the layout grid to see the pop-up menu of operations. These operations act on the selected cell, so make sure you have selected the cell before invoking the pop-up menu.
|
8.5 Changing column widths and row heights
| |
To change the width of column A, place the mouse pointer on the line between columns A and B. Click with the left mouse button and drag the pointer to the right to widen column A or to the left to make it narrower.
To change row height, select any cell on the row and click on any of the arrows on the left of layout group.
The text boxes under arrows show width (W) and height (H) of the selected cell.
|
8.6 Adding fields to the layout
| |
Drag a field from the tree structure on the left of the screen and drop it on the desired cell on layout grid. Only group fields i.e. fields with folder icon can be dragged. To include / exclude sub-fields, select / de-select check boxes. Unchecked fields will not be printed on the label / invoice header.
|
8.7 Specifying layout size and margins
| |
To specify layout size, select one from the list of predefined sizes or select 'custom' from the list and specify custom values for width and height fields.
Specify Left (L), Top (T), Right (R) and Bottom (B) margins by putting values in respective text boxes.
These values can only be changed while being in 'New' or 'Edit' modes.
|
8.8 Using layout design
| |
To set a design for use in printing labels, go to 'Shipping Labels' tab. Here, you can specify design layouts for each postal service. Select a Service from the combo list. Or, if you do not find the required service in the list, you may also enter it here. Make sure the text matches exactly the way it is on eBay. Then, select the layout to be associated with this service and click on 'Add'. This will add the association in the table below.
You may also make a layout default by selecting the layout design from the list and click on the icon next to the list. The icon turns green. The default layout is used for all the services for which no association is added in the association table.
